An Abundance of Katherines - Likewise Book Reviews
"This book is not for everyone. I say that right off the top because I know that one of the reasons I connected with it is because I am someone who enjoys random information and I tend to go off on tangents. So, to listen to (my first) audiobook and have it be one that I could laugh about, was a great experience.

I also connected with Colin on some level. He is in a point of his life where he feels lost and doesn’t know his purpose in life. He has knowledge and he has skills...but are they the kind of skills that will help him in the real world? TBD.
Though this book is technically about his love life (or lack there of)...that is only what connects the beginning, middle, and end. You are taken on a journey with him and his friend who decide they need to experience life outside of their own city. A road trip ensues. Colin is someone who has a hard time with change and isn’t the best when it comes to trying new things. So, again, being someone who can empathize with that, I was able to see the brilliant and the ridiculous things that made this book come together. I laughed throughout it and felt like I could have been apart of some of the conversations had between Hassan and Colin.

Conclusion, this book is not for everyone. If you are easily annoyed or have low patience...I would probably tell you to try something else.
I work with kids (little kids) and patience is part of that. I also have always been someone who asks all the questions and over analyze everything.
So, I thought this book was written for my personality type.

Would definitely recommend the audiobook version-extremely well done! I have never been able to get through more than ten or fifteen minutes of an audiobook before now."

"Great book! I don’t really have anything else to say, everything is sorta in the description… I would suggest for people who like reading realistic fiction and romance, good friendship, and figuring out who you are and what it means to matter. "

"Cute in typical John Green fashion."
"I think I have outgrown John Green books. I found this book to be incredibly flat and formulaic; another go around of the angsty teen trying to win the popular and pretty girl's heart. The teenager's personalities were not realistic which made the book difficult to enjoy. Also, seriously - 19 Katherines with the same spelling?"
"I give a round of applause to John Green for his tale of discovering individuality. The strive to matter in a world where all is alike and prodigies similar to Colin are not discovered unless proven genius. The symbolism used inside this book is absolutely astounding, and I praise this author for creating an environment full of Colins different from the one and only Colin Singleton."

"Very cute!"
"Too much math, not enough back-story, current-story, or future-story on any of the supporting characters. Very much the main character being self-centered and emotionally backward.

That being said, I always enjoy John Green's dialogue, and the like ability of his supporting characters is why I want to know more. Good."

"It was funny, but could drag at points. Still worth it, though. John Green is a Fantastic writer."
