"Overhyped, nonsense. This is a case of being not for me, I should not have gone in blind like I was told, because I never would have picked this one up. A retelling of Adam and Eve, in which Adam is a psychopathic douche. So happy I didn't purchase this one. 2 stars because of the writing, but everything else was a hard pass."

"Retelling of Adam and Eve in present times with a slight mystery in it…good read but this story will always make me upset…to much misogyny for my taste… "

"Yeah this was a fun one, short but packed with enough to think about for hours. It reminded me of all of these books I wouldn't expect to be reminded of like The Bible, Bluebeard, and Animal Farm. I mean who would think those three books would be connected? All in just over 100 pages too!
The prose were really pretty too, I was struck by that at the start of the book and it carries through. Some of Valente's descriptions are really beautiful. I would say give this a shot, it was diffrent and nostalgic at the same time. Doesn't that sound like a good read?"

"3.5/5
This book was so odd but it was also vary short which I think helped I have mixed fillings about this one I like how this played out and ended it was truly so interesting I thought about it long after I read it I can't really say much else it easy to spoil but I thought it was a quick cool read I didn't hate it I just didn't love it either"

"The writing style is absolutely beautiful. It's elegant, and just makes you feel good. But I'm not a fan of the fact that it's Bible fanfiction in which Adam is a whiney murderous brat, and God has no backbone. It's just creepy and weird"

"I was really eager to read this little book, so much so that I was the first one to snag it once my library cataloged it. I love seeing reviews claiming they can’t accurately summarize the book without giving it away. To me, that’s usually a sign of a fantastic book. Unfortunately, this book really fell flat. I started to piece things together and it just didn’t work for me. The submission and misogyny was annoying more than anything, even though it was “necessary” for the storyline. It just wasn’t my cup of tea."
