"This surprisingly started as a Creepypasta, back when those were new and popular. This one always stood above the rest, it's a masterclass in suspense. It's a bit short, but not shallow at all. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a slow pace but done incredibly well. It definitely had the creepy factor to it but also interesting. The length of this book was perfect as well. I’m happy I read it around spooky season"

"I thought this was going to be absolutely phenomenal the way everyone describes it. I also thought it would be scary but I was disappointed in this one. While it's worth the read it definitely feels rather slow and kind of boring at times. Overall it was a good story but I could've had more exciting of scary moment. I also don't feel like it answered all the questions it created. "

"This book is incredibly well written. I enjoyed every second of this read and couldn't put it down. It was dark, twisted, and terrifying in the best ways possible. "

"This was a creepy and slightly confusing read. I liked it, but I think the moral of the story for me is to know who all my penpals are. "

"I really enjoyed some parts of this book, and I was freaked out a couple times. However, the ending was quite underwhelming, and didn't make much sense. This book leaves you with more questions than answers, and I don't really understand the purpose of making it that way. I also feel like an unnecessary amount of time was spent describing kids' activities, but that's true of many books with kids as the main characters. Anyway, I found the book to be promising, and then it fell short for me.

I don't mind the Reddit style because I enjoy reading and listening to those stories. That's not my issue. I liked the suspense, and main purpose of the storyline; I'm just not a fan of the direction it went in."

"This book is so eerie and heartbreaking. Very much a slow burn with the nostalgia of childhood."
