Topic: TV & Movies

I’m have mixed feelings on this. The original is fantastic and it deals with class and power structures, which should be right up Spike’s alley. However, Soderbergh just did a series based on this for Max. I was hoping that a new Denzel/Spike film would be something groundbreaking & unique. I don’t think this will be bad but I’m worried that might just be “pretty good”. ,[object Object],

Rob Paul Was the movie original or was there some kind of source material?

Ryan From what I read it was “loosely based” on a 1959 short story but it seems Kurosawa got the scenario from there and fleshed it out into a full story.

Rob Paul Cool. Yea, just hope it’s not simply fan service. But Spike did direct one of my favorite movies, 25th Hour, so he gets the benefit.
