Daniel RamosAnother a24 hit. This movie hit a part of my empathetic side. If I were in their shoes, what would I do. Viewing it from that perspective makes it rewatchable. Give it a shot! Idk why I want to include this, but it almost reminds me of the days I got hooked on lifetime movies. Let me know if that makes sense lol.
Daniel RamosI've been waiting for a good predator movie, but this one rose the bar. Both this and the first are on the same level. A lot of movies have a hard time making a woman seem like a convincing badass, mainly due to bad writing, but this had no issue. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend!
Daniel RamosPretty epic! Somewhat slow start, which had me nervous since I picked it out. As soon as **** hit the fan, all eyes were glued, mouths were shut, and ears were blown out. I knew it would be a special movie, especially when finding out it was told all by memory. Best enjoyed in IMAX!
Daniel RamosIt was an event movie. It glamorized what would happen at the end, I'm sure you can figure that out. Most jokes got old after the first time. Charlie Day was doing his best. Ice cube phoned in the usual, "I'm the badass persona." Sort of a fan letter to his career in a few shots. Very loving father daughter scene, and ngl, fight scene was pretty epic. Fun background movie.
Daniel RamosIt's hard to find a unique movie that aims to disgust and shock you in every corner of its story. It did this with an intriguing storyline that keeps you on edge. I can't believe I hadn't heard about this masterpiece until tik tok, of all places, suggested it. Please give this movie a chance, but keep in mind, it's pretty horrific.
Daniel RamosThis is a core memory movie for me, so please excuse the bias. Jim Carry became my favorite actor because of this role. It also displays one of my greatest fears. It's good to know that I don't feel alone when I say that because so many people feel safe to say that's how they feel sometimes. The world is a stage right? The philosophical morals this movie puts into question are very thoughtful provoking. I'd love to see a sequel done right with maybe Carry having a short cameo. Updated ways of getting away with not being seen like drones, camera phones, etc. That would elevate the amount of paranoia. Just an idea I'd like to throw out there. Make it happen likewise lol
Daniel RamosThe only thing that bogs down the score for me is the copy and paste feel to it. Obviously, it pays homage to 12 angry men, but it has a lot of twists and turns with an unreliable narrator that makes it's much more interesting. Midway I looked up the director and was shocked. Mr. Eastwood did a great job for his age, and I respect him for taking on a classic tale. Spoiler side theory - I've always felt like actors take on certain roles to prove they are the right role for an even bigger movie. That being Lex Luthor. I'm looking forward to his portrayal. I had a lot of fun with this movie!
Daniel RamosI would say more like a 3.8. I really enjoyed this movie. The quality of the shots and editing is what pushes it to a 4 for me. The story was a bit predictable, but if the formula works, don't fix it. My mom usually stays on her phone, but something about this movie had her on the edge of her seat lol. Brava!
