Spencer MauriceI first read this book (begrudgingly) when it was assigned in high school. I liked some of the local Long Island / Queens / Manhattan references.
Then it was assigned to me in college and I enjoyed it more, especially the writing style. So crisp and clear , yet distant and aloof.
Spencer MauriceIt's an enjoyable film, a true Liverpudlian story. A British working class actor has a romance with a mercurial famous film star, Gloria Graham. She grows close with his family, even after the couple breakup, but she's flighty.
Spencer MauriceI thought this was an interesting book about a small, remote European community and how important local sports is. It highlights who's an insider and who isn't, .
Spencer MauriceI enjoyed this book about a bureaucracy that doesn't know how to provide care for magical youths. It took me a while to get into it, but in the end I liked it.Maybe it was the author's first novel, but I think it might be more for teenagers.
