Alexis WeightI read this book in ninth grade already, but I appreciate it much more now. I actually read up to the fourth book, and I actually read the prequel this time around. It's really cool to look back and see all the foreshadowing and references it makes that I didn't notice before because I didn't read the prequel at first. I would say this book is probably in my top ten, it's obviously good enough that I could read it a second time. the author is also my favorite author because she made my favorite series, book, and character of all time. so to see her writing her first book series is really cool. I'm also excited to read her third series that she is currently working on.

this book is really well made for her first book, not to mention the main character is an arrogant and funny woman. that usually doesn't happen, I feel like a lot of authors make the main character as plain and obscure as possible so the reader can relate to them cough* Twilight * cough. this character really stands out because of the way she presents herself, plus the mystery of her past that you get snippets of every so often but are left in the dark at the end of the book, wanting you to read the second book. the elements in the book set up a lot of the stuff that is going to happen in the next books too, and besides a few discrepancies and interesting word choices, I really have nothing to complain about.
