R. HolmesAn incredible account of her life, Pearl S. Buck has an anthropologist's view of the world and effectively turns this lens on herself in this stunning memoir. Born at the end of the civil war in America, she lived thru both world wars and provides amazing commentary on world politics during her life from the perspective of an outsider since most of her life was spent in China. Not as fast read as there's so much to digest, but one to savor.
