Reyna JazmínThe book is based on a Cuban family dealing with the death of the patriarch of the family and with the culture that the matriarch is trying to teach the remaining family members. “Am I not Cuban enough, is she too Cuban” type of ideas that fill the mind of one of the characters in the story as she’s very modern while her family is still living by the customs of the earlier times while being from Cuban decent but having that “-American” label after being what we would now call mix-status. The story has a lot of pov changes but it is highly emphasized on the female family members.
Reyna JazmínThere were parts in where I shed a tear or straight up bawled my eyes out. The book is composed of various stories and families that supported the country after tragedies but have been left unrecognizable due to their social and migratory status. The book and author highlight important messages and occasions in people’s lives. Definitely worth the reading

Reyna JazmínThe book did not disappoint, it had a lot of twists and turns that were highly surprising yet expected all at once. However I was disappointed with a couple of events that happened throughout.
Reyna JazmínThe book was great, left me anticipating the next part. Loved everything the book made me feel and think
Reyna JazmínIt was close to becoming a five-star book but I felt like it was rushed. This book is the Sequel to The Way I Used To Be and it was very much anticipated after the ending of the first book, however I was a bit disappointed with how Eden’s friends responded as it was described when they first learned about her abuse. Her relationship with Josh was everything I wish it was, it was bonded and understood but I’m glad they depicted his traumas as well and how both scared Lead towards a toxic relationship at a point. Their character development was amazing and the ending of the book good besides the fact that I thought it felt rushed.
Reyna JazmínThe book was great, it went straight to the main event that changed our protagonist Eden and her journey after becoming a r*** victim. Despite the incident have been brought up early in the book the rest of the plot described perfectly the way that her trauma began to influence her actions and decisions. It was a tearjerker.
