Mr. HaartmanI’m writing a book set in the 1920s and thought this might be a potential comp title. I’m also an Agatha Christie fan so felt like a good match. The opening didn’t feel overly compelling but I did get engaged before long. The book is structured as a dual-timeline narrative that reads more like the retelling of a complex relationship more than a puzzle to solve. The story question is more put on the reader to wonder what happened during Agatha’s missing 11 days than on any of the characters to solve a mystery, so if you want a protagonist with a clear goal, this won’t be it. Still a solid read for Christie fan.
