Road Masteris looking for a Book in Fantasy Book Club
So I'm watching a booktube video that talked a bit about Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. It got me curious about other fantasy books like it. Are there any that follow a "regular" citizen just existing in their world but dealing with a situation IN that magical world? Not large, end of the world stakes. But not necessarily low stakes either. Just a regular citizen (magical or not) navigating a problem, with lots of emphasis on exploring the details of the magical society they're in.

Road MasterThis one's a kinda. Just a woman trying to start a simple business. But it doesn't really explore the society at all.

Road MasterResponding to both your recommendation here and your question above. This book seems to be a fantastic fit for this ask.

Jessica HNot sure on this one. It's "normal non magical girl discovers there's a whole secret magical society she didn't know about" and gets a job as a bar tender in basically a magical bounty hunter guild. I'm not sure magical bounty hunters count as normal people, but she's a normal person. This author has several serieses in this world, this is the main series (with honestly my least favorite MC, but she's also probably the closest to a normal person)

PixThe series focuses on the interactions between humans and the Others, supernatural beings, highlighting everyday life and relationships within a magical world. The protagonist isn't a significant hero but rather someone who deals with personal and community-level issues, providing a detailed exploration of the magical elements and their impact on society.

PixCentered on a librarian who works for a secret library that collects important books from alternate realities, this series revolves around a character who experiences magical elements through her job. It explores various magical societies without requiring the protagonist to save the world, fitting the request for regular individuals dealing with situational challenges.
