Bryanna IngleThe writing itself is a compelling fantasy story, creating an imaginative world of creatures and magic. There is romance strewn across the fanciful story, a tension that is palpable as the vision of a magical world unfolds. This form of romance is for for anyone who enjoys a build of excitement, emotions, and yearning between two people without the sensation of colliding stars finally meeting. That is to say, that though some “spicy” thoughts are had, the characters are steeping in their sexual tension without release. A true slow burn, with enjoyable fantasy elements. The FMC is more tentative at first, taking time throughout the novel to break out of her shell, personally I found this a nice perspective to watch as the FMC develops her bravery and courage within herself. Soldiers, fighting, monsters, edging romantic tension, magic, and more in this enthralling tale.
Bryanna IngleThis is more of opposing sides to lovers than enemies to lovers, but it is still a dark fantasy romance that is steamy and teasing. The main characters experience a passionate connection as chaos unravels their every day lives, making them feel torn between their desires and how they should feel about their situations (as well as each other). I would have loved a sequel to this story filled with creatures, magic, and lustful yearning between two lovers. The level of deep need, craving, and affectionate aching between the lovers of the story is something I relish about the tale as it unfolds.
Bryanna IngleI really enjoyed the fantasy elements and some classic feels to the writing, as if knowing the story without having read it before. There is a building of tension between the main romantic characters that builds and falls like waves, which personally was something I appreciated. The push and pull between the characters feelings and the ongoing concerns of their situation allows for the story to unfold whithout the romance getting in the way or obstructing too much. Overall it's a teasing and sweet fantasy romance that was fun to read.
Bryanna IngleThe story and setting are rivitting, while the dark romance feels at home in the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest. Eerie, exciting, and dripping with a morbid sense of curiosity for the things that go bump in the night. It pushes the envelope of inner dark cravings, but without getting lost in the extremes. This is a great read for anyone into the spooky, occult, and devilishly playful side of life.
