Topic: Following
I recently finished Christopher Nolan’s debut, Following. It was the last Nolan I hadn’t watched, so I’ve completed his (current) filmography. I wondered how many other directors’ filmographies I’ve finished (5 movie min, only films considered). I could only find two others, Tarantino and Rian Johnson. I’m close on several others but I was surprised how few I had, considering I’ve watched somewhere around 2000 movies. Do any of you know how many director filmographies you have completed?

Watched this when I was 8 years old for the first time. Think it was a rental from blockbuster or something shortly after releasing. But after watching, I was afraid of the dark until my late teens lol no joke. Scary stuff and will be regarded in my opinion as one of the scariest movies I have ever seen

The next Shrek movie has finally had its cast announced. The original movie's main heroic cast returns, along with Zendaya as Shrek and Fiona's daughter. Antonio Banderas is notably absent from the cast list, for now, though he's not confirmed to be absent from the film. The announcement trailer shows the characters' new designs, as they've been moved from DreamWorks to Illumination, and they're... different. https://youtu.be/KbiwL74KyJQ?si=r5gVTWyHG1zOYgnW

Topic: The Human Centipede (First Sequence)
The Human Centipede is a very gross concept of a movie. The acting is not the best, but the movie makes up for it with its storyline. The practical effects are great and make you squirm. The idea of the centipede is disgusting as well as disturbing. If you are someone who does not like surgical horror, hen I recommend not seeing this movie. Besides the acting, my only complaint is that the main characters aren't the brightest. I would have liked to see them be less dizzy when it came to survival.

The teaser for Gareth Evans’s (director of the Raid films) new film finally dropped today. It has a great cast (Tom Hardy, Tim Olyphant and Forest Whitaker) and is coming to Netflix April 25th. Evans is such a great action filmmaker that I’m cautiously optimistic for this film, even though they shot it in 2021 and they have been doing reshoots and tinkering with it since then (which is usually a bad sign). https://www.indiewire.com/news/trailers/havoc-teaser-tom-hardy-1235099142/

Topic: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
As you may already know, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's next arc following the Hashira Training Arc, The Infinity Castle Arc, is not receiving a television treatment. It is instead being adapted into a trilogy of movies. Other notable anime, like Haikyuu!!, Konosuba, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Sailor Moon: Crystal, have taken this same approach of adapting canon content into exclusively theatrical releases. How do you feel about this practice? What are the pros and cons?

Topic: A.P. Bio
I just started this show on Netflix, it’s hilarious. Im only on episode 12, but It’s about this Harvard professor teaching a high school AP bio class. And straight up telling them that he’s not teaching them anything. He wants to try to get his job back, so they straight up do random stuff every episode. If u want a good laugh every episode, this is it. So far 5/5

Topic: Home Alone
I'm always curious about this question. So ever since I was little, I have never liked Home Alone since I found it very mean spirited due to Kevin's horrible family. I don't like watching Christmas movies that can be very mean spirited since I want to watch the movies to be cheerful and happy for Christmas, not be depressed or angered by it. So it surprise me that not only do people love it but consider it a Christmas classic. So I must ask why everyone loves the movie despite how cruel it is?

Why is this show so good? Currently on episode 4,(waiting for dub) and I have to say the music choices and the animation is spectacular! The way the sky and city lights are depicted at night completely blew me away. If you haven't started this, go check it out!

Topic: The Breakfast Club
I just finished this movie and wow, I was not expecting the topics it discussed. It really takes a deep dive into high school tropes and getting into the psychological details. So I want to ask: what impacts do you think this movie had? Why is it still so relevant today? How did you interpret the characters and their stories? Thank you—can’t wait to hear your takes on this movie! #classics #1980s #thebreakfastclub #school_life #tropes #drama #comedy #social_themes

SO GOOD! The comedy landed, the storyline was exciting, and the acting was superb. I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. I do hate that I knew what the plot was kind of about because of the advertising. This movie could have had an awesome twist had the advertising not given it away. Besides that, the movie as a whole is a fun ride! Definitely see it when you have the chance.

For those who like reading and Studio Ghibli movies I made a book club on Fable if anyone is interested in joining! Right now we are starting the book Howl's moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, this club is a slower paced one so there is no pressure to race through the book. https://fable.sng.link/Ali7l/etuk?_dl=%2Fapp%2Fclubs%2F53a18696-e0f3-4b58-8ff8-52279eb76659&_fallback_redirect=https%3A%2F%2Ffable.co%2Fclub%2Fghibli-book-nook-with-georgie-193088255059&_smtype=3

Topic: Heretic
I thought "Heretic" was very original. I personally loved how it makes not only the characters question their faith, but it makes the audience as well. The use of Monoply in this movie is done well, and provided a great visual for the concept that the antagonist is trying to get across. I also thought the acting was great and the storyline is thrilling!

Topic: Nosferatu
Pros: - The acting from the whole cast was great! - The scenery/environment was beautifully done and met the mark for a Gothic film. The writing was beautiful. Even though it is a period piece, I understood what they were saying. Cons: The film wastes the casting of Bill S. Unlike Pennwise, his monster in this is covered by darkness, CGI, and an AWFUL mustache. Instead of feeling frightened by his appearance, I thought I was looking at Waluigi from Nintendo. - The pacing of this movie SLOW

To people who have seen this series, how much of it is Horror more than just a suspense/thriller? I love Shyamalan his stuff can be hit or miss but I don't do well with #horror dealing with spirits and possession lol but I love a good #psychological_thriller or #suspense I read he's being sued over this saying the story was stolen from a movie... Idk about all that but AppleTV imo spits out phenomenal series so I really wanna watch this, did y'all like it? Thanks
